Am 9. Januar zeigen sich die „47 Ronin“ auf den deutschen Leinwänden. Unter der Regie von Carl Rinsch schwingen Keanu Reeves, die gerade in „Pacific Rim“ zu sehende Rinko Kikuchi und Hiroyuki Sanada die asiatischen Schneidwerkzeuge. Das Drehbuch stammt u.a. von Chris Morgan („Fast and Furious 5“, „Fast and Furious 6“) sowie Hossein Amini („Drive) und ist inspiriert von einer alten, japanischen Legende. Der Trailer verspricht die üblichen Zutaten: nette Action im Fantasy-Gewand, hübsche bebildert und natürlich in 3D. Ob „47 Ronin“ ein wahres Actionfest oder doch nur gut aussehende Stangenware wird, wird sich zeigen.

Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.
